For the exhibition 'Grenzenlos' (engl. 'boundless') eight students collaborated with seven refugees from Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea, Iraq and Somalia. Our aim was to give a voice to those who, after much suffering, have not yet found their place in society. Over the course of several workshops we have created a multimedia mix of design, typography, sculptures, music and space of art.
The project was supported by the non-profit organisation ARTHELPS and the advertising agency Jung von Matt, as well as the City of Constance.
The exhibition was well attended and several local and national radio stations, as well as the renowned german magazine 'Der Spiegel' ran reports about it.
With a European passport, borders don’t really seem to matter much. But what happens when a border between two countries becomes a significant element in order to survive?
Within the exhibition called 'Grenzenlos' a team of young refugees, design students and helpers of the none-profit organisation ARTHELPS tried to take away these border using a multimedia-based mix of design, typography, lyric poetry, music and space of art.
